Matt Bedlow
Mortgage and Protection Adviser
Ever since I can remember, I've been keen to stand on my own two feet. That desire for financial independence spurred me on to find my first job right after my GCSEs.
Just two weeks after finishing school, I jumped into my first role as an Admin Assistant at a conveyancing firm. Three years flew by, and after completing my NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, I was thrilled to be promoted to Admin Team Leader. I believe in working hard, and putting in those extra hours really paid off.
My time in conveyancing gave me a fantastic insight into the mortgage market, and I realised I wanted to be more involved in helping people through the entire home-buying journey, not just one part of it. So, naturally, becoming a mortgage broker felt like the perfect next step for me!
I put my heart into it, focused on my goals, and proudly qualified as a mortgage broker in December 2023, just a few months after my 20th birthday.
I'm always ready to roll up my sleeves and put in the effort needed to achieve the best for people. This is true for everything I tackle, but it's especially important to me when I'm helping my clients secure their mortgage and protection.
When it comes to relaxing, I'm a big fan of watching all sorts of sports, particularly football and snooker. Outside of work, you'll often find me playing 5-a-side football or cheering on my favourite team, Derby County. And if I'm not caught up in sports, I enjoy a good laugh with some comedy.
I'm not a huge drinker, but there's nothing quite like a cold cider on a sunny summer day with my partner.
And the best part of any day? Spending time with Archie, my golden retriever, who's always ready for walks and plenty of fuss.
