What our clients say
At Mortgage Winners we really understand the importance of supporting our customers throughout their homebuying journey. We are genuinely committed to giving great service. What really motivates us is hearing these efforts are appreciated and that our customers would recommend us to others. Here is a selection of recent feedback.
“We were passed details for Luke from a friend and have been very happy with the service we’ve received! Luke went through the process and advised on products (one of which was for my self-employed partner specifically) and we cannot fault the tasks undertaken. The commitment from both Luke & Cathie has been fundamental for the acceptance and completion of our remortgage and we have already started to recommend to our friends and family. Thank you for all your support and help (even at crazy hours!) and finding us the best mortgage deal in this uncertain market.”

“Luke is very helpful and accommodating to our personal needs. Getting a mortgage and buying a house is one of the most stressful things we can do but he took the pressure away by making the process effortless for us.”

“Luke McLeod was my mortgage broker. He was absolutely amazing! I was in a bit of a bind, as the other mortgage company I was using were taking a lot of time getting the mortgage offer through (2 months and counting) without a clear end date. I switched to Luke, who clearly has a wealth of experience and knowledge which made the mortgage application run smoothly. The mortgage application to having the mortgage offer approved took only 1 week and a half! Absolutely brilliant! Would definitely recommend and use again!”

Location, location, location
Stuffed full of history, Portsmouth is bursting at the seams with things to do and see. But it’s more than just a top holiday destination on the South Coast. It’s also a great place to live.
Portsmouth, the UK’s only island city, is between Chichester, Southampton and the Isle of Wight on the south coast. It's only 70 miles from London and is easy to find. Head to the south coast, down the A3, then stop before you reach the sea.
Access and travel opportunities
Trains – Portsmouth has four main stations: Portsmouth Harbour, Portsmouth & Southsea, Hilsea and Fratton. Two direct services run to London Waterloo via Guildford and Basingstoke. The journey takes about an hour and a half. Regular services run to Southampton, Cardiff, Salisbury, Bath and Bristol, Brighton, Gatwick Airport, Croydon, and London Victoria.
Car – The M27 runs into Portsmouth's top, making access in and out of the city and surrounding areas simple. It’s only a two–hour drive to London, and it's nearer to one and a half on a good day!
Ferries – Passenger ferries run to Gosport, passenger and car ferries to the Ryde on the Isle of Wight, and daily continental ferries to France, Spain and the Channel Islands. Portsmouth Harbour is a tremendously busy port, home to the Royal Navy.
Planes – The nearest airport is Southampton Airport, located at Eastleigh. It’s just under 20 miles away and easily accessed by car, train or bus. Otherwise, Heathrow, Gatwick and Bournemouth are less than 80 miles away. All are an easy drive by road and are served by rail links from Portsmouth.
Buses – Local bus routes serve Portsmouth and the surrounding areas, as well as regular National Express services that run frequently to various destinations across the UK.
Hovercraft – The hovercraft service to Ryde on the Isle of Wight is the fastest way to get to the island and is the only passenger hovercraft service operating in Britain.
Education
If you have children or are planning on a family, then Portsmouth has a great selection of public and private schools for you to choose from.
Providing and improving the quality of education for local children has been and continues to be a top priority for local councils. Many schools in the area are judged by Ofsted as Good or Outstanding.1
The University of Portsmouth achieved Gold in the Government’s Teaching Excellence Framework. Its record for graduate employment and boosting graduates’ salaries is impressive.2 Together with the City of Portsmouth College, a broad range of academic and vocational courses are available for school leavers who continue to study in the city.
Health
The largest NHS hospital in Portsmouth is the Queen Alexandra Hospital. St Mary’s Community Hospital and several private hospitals offer various services.
19 GP practices within 3 miles of Portsmouth city centre are currently accepting new patients.3
